Blues Man

My step-brother asked for a painting of mine for the past couple of decades. We were going to meet a few years ago and he reminded me again. Since he plays blues with an east coast band, I thought the monochromatic blues would be appropriate. This is the three hour oil sketch just before we left. The painting was still wet when delivered. He was happy to have the work and let it be a lesson.  If you want a painting, you may end up being the subject.

Carving stone

The happiest I’ve ever been with an art project. Carving stone. The sculpture was later juried into a show and I still have this first effort. More to come.

Practice with additive and subtractive wax applications. Not exactly what I’d envisioned yet the painting comes close.  I wish I’d photographed the layers. The first few were lovely.

Sort of like a giraffe. Only shorter.

I guess you have to be there.
